The CPR mission concept began in 2013 when two recovering men in a transitional house came up with an idea for a music and arts festival to raise funds to assist fellow residents with emergency needs not provided by the house. Several successful fundraisers later, Community Program for Recovery (CPR) was formed as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Our board is all volunteers and made up of people in recovery and family members of people in recovery. Our largest annual fundraiser, Serenity Jam, addresses the need for extended support for people in recovery as well as groups and institutions that directly help alcoholics and addicts on their journey to a new life.

See and hear how transitional houses work, and how the residents directly benefit from the CPR Mission.

Sponsored in 2022

In 2022 we raised $16,000 for The Prospect House, Oak Street Clubhouse, and The Orient House for Women. The Prospect House offers a 12-step based treatment program as well as transitional housing for recovering alcoholic and addicted men. Oak Street is an AA clubhouse that has provided a place for meetings for the greater Cincinnati recovery community for over 75 years. The Orient House is a new women’s transitional house we are helping to get established in the community.

The CPR check was presented to John E., Director of the Prospect House. A fund was set up to benefit their recovering residents directly.

405 Oak Street Center

405 Oak Street provides a place for 12 Step recovery meetings all day, every day of the week. CPR donated to their building maintenance fund.

Previous Years

In the past 4 years, CPR has raised $21,000 for emergency funds for recovering transitional house residents.

2020/2021 Beneficiaries: Charlie’s 3/4 House and Angie’s House of Freedom and Miracles

During the 2020 pandemic, we were unable to have our fundraiser, however, we held a raffle that raised $2000 for these houses. The 2021 Serenity Jam raised an additional $10,000, for a total of $6000 for each house’s residents.

Charlie’s: “The CPR / Serenity Jam donation has been extremely useful in assisting our residents in need, recently helping a resident continue his education to further his employment opportunities and helping another get a phone to aid in his search for employment.”

Angie’s House of Freedom &
Miracles: “We have utilized CPR/Serenity Jam funds by providing rent assistance for 4 women while they were in IOP and not working yet. It has also supported one resident in obtaining their license and paying back reinstatement fees and also has provided the house with literature to enhance their recovery.”

2019: The House of God’s Grace;
A Men’s House in Elsmere KY.
$3000 donated

“We are grateful to have been a beneficiary of the 2019 Serenity Jam. We have created a fund that our residents in need can borrow from. We have had 2 guys fix their cars and both have repaid the money. Another patron is working on some much-needed dental work. The value of what has been given can’t be calculated.”

2019: S.T.A.R.S. House;
A Women’s House in Cheviot OH
$3000 donated

“The women of S.T.A.R.S are blessed to have been chosen to be a part of Serenity Jam. The funds donated were put to good use right away, helping 2 new girls with start-up money to get into the house.”

2018: House of Rescue & Grace;
A Women’s House in Avondale, Cincinnati. $3000 donated.

“CPR’s donation helped make a big
difference in the lives of our women and their families. The fund for assistance with work clothes and transportation was huge. CPR is making a difference in our
communities. Thank you.”
