Welcome to
The Community Program for Recovery (CPR) Mission
“To provide resources to persons in recovery from substance abuse.”
CPR strives to give a lifeline to those seeking recovery by providing the resources needed to help break free from the grips of alcoholism and drug addiction and embark on a path to recovery.
About CPR
Community Program for Recovery (CPR) is a non-profit group of dedicated volunteers comprised of recovered men and women and their family members. These former alcoholics and addicts work to support those currently battling the very disease they have overcome. Actual life experience, as well as an ongoing connection with our recovery community, uniquely qualify CPR to identify the needs and distribute help to those who it will benefit most. CPR is also novel in that it has no fixed overhead or general and administrative expenses. Every dollar received goes directly to serve CPR’s Mission. CPR hosts two “Serenity Jam” fundraising events each year that are successful, but maybe most importantly serve as a
“Celebration of Recovery.”
CPR Programs and Services
Since its beginning in 2018, CPR has raised and provided over $110,000 in direct support to the Recovery Community. CPR is committed to continuous innovation and increasing effectiveness in the stewardship of the funds entrusted to it. Some of the ways CPR provides help are:
• CPR may subsidize the initial rent amount for those in recovery not yet employed and transitioning into established, trusted, and legitimate sober living houses, after having been recommended by the directors of the facility.
• CPR provides resources for newly sober residents living in independent, non-profit, 12-Step recovery housing to obtain necessities not otherwise provided or obtainable, such as emergency medical or dental care, transportation to job interviews and meetings, fees for attending sobriety-based/spiritual retreats, as well as other basic necessities for building sober and stable lives.
• CPR Supports, through earmarked donations, local, established, independent, non-profit meeting places (i.e., “AA Clubhouses”), organizations, and entities that provide the education, support, role-modeling, and fellowship opportunities that are crucial to successful post-treatment recovery.
• CPR donates recovery-based literature for people in incarceration and detox/treatment facilities, and for distribution to newcomers at 12-Step recovery meetings

CPR 2025 Beneficiaries
The Promises Club
Founded in 1989, The Promises Club in Newport, Kentucky is one of the principal AA clubhouses in the Greater Cincinnati area. It continues in service today as an essential gathering place for 12 Step meetings and fellowship opportunities for people in recovery from substance abuse. The Promises Club is run entirely by volunteers who graciously contribute their time, skills, and donations.
CPR is grateful to have been able to work with and help out Promises and their hard working board!
Serenity Recovery Network
Serenity Recovery Network (SRN) was born in October of 2009, when two premier sober living facilities joined forces. Serenity House, founded in July of 2005 by Ivan Faske and Fred Fago, merged with House of Freedom and Miracles, founded by Angie Edwards in 2004. Both Ivan and Angie believed that the key to long term sobriety began with raising recovering addicts and alcoholics self-esteem and self-worth. Along with an abstinence-based program based upon spiritual principles and 12 step based programs of recovery, SRN assists residents in nding a lifelong recovery program of their choice, impacting and improving their lives and their spirits.
Supporting the recovering men and women of Serenity Recovery Network was an honor and a pleasure for CPR.
The 1607 Club
A Grandchild of the Russell Street and and 722 clubhouses, the 1607 Club continues the tradition of the Covington Kentucky area Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and gathering places. With a focus on community engagement and networking, 1607 Club provides a welcoming environment for recovering individuals to meet, connect and socialize, hosting 23 meetings a week.
CPR was happy to assist in a small way in 2025 to help 1607 meet some of the challenges of keeping the lights on at 1607 for those in recovery.
